Journey to Rwanda
February 28 – March 4, 2026
Kigali | Mahama Refugee Camp | Akagera National Park
Travel with Alight for a transformative five-day experience that invites you to explore, listen, learn, and reimagine what’s possible when communities lead their own future.
Journey with Purpose
Connection
Meet Alight team members, service partners, and our customers: displaced community members and camp residents primarily from the Democratic Republic of Congo and Burundi.
Share conversation. Gain perspective. Surface insights.
In the Land of a Thousand Hills step beyond the typical “tour”
and into the heart of community-led transformation.
Alight is committed to our customers.
And in complex crises we are a trusted humanitarian partner daring to dream of futures imagined not just of survival, but shaped by thriving for all.
On this Insights Learning Journey, over five immersive days you’ll walk alongside families who face displacement and are now designing bold new futures. As a collaborator, you’ll engage with Alight’s Rwanda Team and partners, explore innovation in youth livelihoods, immerse in Rwanda’s natural beauty, and witness how dignity and choice flourish when solutions are built in collaboration.
Discovery
Explore Rwanda. From the country’s deep historic context, to the realities of displacement through today’s lens. You’ll also experience a richness of culture, the vibrancy of Kigali, the protected beauty of Akagera National Park, and community sites where ideas are building real change.
Reflection
As a co-researcher the insights you cultivate will fuel future community co-design. You’ll also participate in “Umuganda”, a national community service practice in Rwanda. Return home not just with memories, but with deepened understanding and renewed inspiration to find others and do the doable.
Journey Details
This isn’t just a trip —
it’s an invitation for changemakers, thinkers, and generous hearts.
You might be a philanthropist, a creative leader, an entrepreneur, or a professional curious about
how the future of humanitarian work is evolving. You don’t need years of field experience.
All you need is empathy, curiosity and a willingness to listen, learn and engage.
